Atiur Rahman addressed the function as the chief guest at the International Conference on Business, Management and Entrepreneurship (ICBME-2019), organized by Dhaka International University (DIU).
Mentioning that Bangladesh is moving towards digitalization, Atiur Rahman added that 68 percent of people in cities and villages are now using smartphones.
Everything is going digital. People in the village are also using the Internet. Mobile finance services are covered by the Internet.
Meanwhile, a large number of young entrepreneurs have been created in the ICT sector. They are doing business with various innovative ideas.
Speaking at the conference, Barrister Shamim Haider Patwari, chairman of the DIU's board of trustees, said that the fourth industrial revolution, ICT, is now shaking the door.
This sector is very important for Bangladesh, India, and China. The first three industrial revolutions occurred in Europe and America. Then they controlled the earth.
But now there is no imperial superpower. There is unrestricted freedom of business and development. All the economic benefits are available.
Mohammad Abu Yousuf, deputy secretary of the finance ministry, said the ICT ministry is providing many opportunities for new entrepreneurs. The government is encouraging new ideas in the field of information technology.
